Fred Durst is an American rapper, singer, and filmmaker best known as the frontman of the nu-metal band Limp Bizkit. Born William Frederick Durst in 1970 in Jacksonville, Florida, he co-founded the band in 1994 and helped popularize the rap-rock sound of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Limp Bizkit achieved multi-platinum success with albums such as Significant Other (1999) and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000), featuring hits like “Nookie,” “Break Stuff,” and “Rollin’.” Durst has also directed music videos and films, including The Fanatic (2019). His style blends aggressive rap delivery with rock instrumentation, and he has collaborated with artists including Method Man, DJ Lethal, and Wes Borland.
