Bio
Die Krupps is a German industrial band formed in Düsseldorf in 1980. Originally rooted in the Neue Deutsche Welle scene, the group quickly evolved toward electronic body music (EBM) and industrial rock, becoming one of the pioneering acts in those genres. Their early albums such as Stahlwerksynphonie and Volle Kraft voraus! established a signature sound built on metallic percussion, synthesizers, and Jürgen Engler’s commanding vocals. Over four decades the band has explored industrial metal and darkwave while maintaining a consistent thematic focus on technology, industry, and social critique. Line-up changes have included guitarists and drummers that added heavier textures, yet the core duo of Engler and Ralf Dörper has remained constant. Die Krupps continue to release new material and perform internationally, influencing subsequent generations of electronic and industrial artists.
