Aerosmith is an American hard rock band formed in Boston in 1970. The lineup of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford became one of the best-selling acts in U.S. history, known for blues-based riffs and Tyler’s raspy vocals. After early success with Toys in the Attic and Rocks, the group overcame addiction struggles and staged a major comeback in the late 1980s with Permanent Vacation and Pump. Hits such as “Dream On,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk This Way” and the later ballad “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” cemented their legacy. They have sold more than 150 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
