Bio
Le Tigre is an American electro-punk band formed in 1998 by Kathleen Hanna, Johanna Fateman, and JD Samson. Emerging from the riot grrrl movement, the group is known for its danceable beats, politically charged lyrics, and multimedia performances that blend music with video art and activism. Their self-titled debut album in 1999 and follow-up Feminist Sweepstakes (2001) established them as key figures in queercore and feminist punk scenes. After a hiatus, the band reunited in 2010 and has continued to influence subsequent generations of artists with their fusion of electronic music and social commentary.
