Bio
Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa in 1995. The nine-piece group is known for its aggressive nu-metal sound, intense live shows, and members wearing distinctive masks and numbered jumpsuits. They rose to mainstream prominence with their self-titled debut album in 1999 and follow-up Iowa in 2001, both released on Roadrunner Records. Subsequent releases like Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and All Hope Is Gone reached number one on the Billboard 200. The band has earned a Grammy for Best Metal Performance and maintains a large international following.
