Daniil Trifonov is a Russian pianist and composer born in 1991 in Nizhny Novgorod. He rose to international prominence after winning the 2011 Tchaikovsky Competition and the 2010 Chopin Competition. Known for his virtuosic technique and interpretive depth, he performs a wide repertoire spanning Romantic and contemporary works. Trifonov has released acclaimed recordings on Deutsche Grammophon and collaborates regularly with leading orchestras and conductors worldwide. He is also an active composer whose works have been performed by major ensembles.
