Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor from Long Beach, California. He rose to fame in the early 1990s as a protégé of Dr. Dre, debuting with the seminal G-funk album Doggystyle in 1993. His laid-back flow, distinctive voice, and West Coast gangsta rap style made him one of hip-hop’s most recognizable figures. Over three decades he has released 19 studio albums, collaborated with artists including Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, and Katy Perry, and expanded into acting, media, and cannabis entrepreneurship. His catalog includes hits such as “Gin and Juice,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” and “Young, Wild & Free.”
