About
Los Ángeles Azules are a Mexican cumbia and sonidera group formed in 1976 in Iztapalapa, Mexico City. Originally a family band led by the Mejía Avante siblings, they rose to prominence in the 1990s with their signature blend of traditional cumbia and modern production. Their breakthrough hits include “Cómo Te Voy a Olvidar” and “El Listón de Tu Pelo,” which helped popularize cumbia sonidera across Latin America. The group has collaborated with contemporary artists such as Natalia Lafourcade, Ximena Sariñana, and Carla Morrison, updating their classic sound for new audiences. They remain one of Mexico’s most enduring and commercially successful cumbia acts, known for high-energy live shows and consistent chart presence.
