Riley B. King, known professionally as B.B. King, was an American blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter born in 1925 in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He rose to prominence in the 1950s with hits like "Three O'Clock Blues" and became one of the most influential electric blues artists of the 20th century. King was renowned for his expressive single-note guitar style and his trademark guitar, Lucille. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he released dozens of albums, won 15 Grammy Awards, and collaborated with artists across genres including Eric Clapton, U2, and John Mayer. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2006.
