Al Johnson

Al Johnson is an American soul and R&B singer-songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. He began his career in the 1970s as a member of the vocal group the Johnson Brothers before launching a solo career. His 1980 album Peaceful was released on Columbia Records and featured the single “I’m Back for More,” a duet with Jean Carne that reached the R&B charts. Johnson later worked as a producer and songwriter, contributing to projects by artists including the Whispers and switching focus to gospel music in later decades. He maintained a low public profile after the 1980s but continued occasional live performances and recordings in the soul and gospel scenes.
