Sonny Stitt

Edward 'Sonny' Stitt was an American jazz saxophonist born in Boston in 1924. A leading bebop alto and tenor player, he recorded over 100 albums and was noted for his fluid technique and prolific output. Stitt performed and recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Gene Ammons, and released landmark sessions on Prestige, Argo, and Impulse. He remained active until his death in 1982.
