Marina

Marina Diamandis, known professionally as Marina (formerly Marina and the Diamonds), is a Welsh singer-songwriter born in 1985 in Brynmawr, Wales. She rose to prominence in the late 2000s with her self-released debut album The Family Jewels (2010) and the follow-up Electra Heart (2012), which topped the UK Albums Chart. Her music blends electropop, synth-pop, and alternative pop with introspective, often satirical lyrics. Subsequent releases include Froot (2015), Love + Fear (2019), and Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land (2021). She has collaborated with producers such as Greg Kurstin and teamed with artists including Clean Bandit and Clean Bandit’s Jack Patterson. Marina is known for her theatrical visual aesthetic and strong independent streak after early major-label experience.
