The Black Skirts

The Black Skirts is a South Korean indie rock band formed in Seoul in 2008 by singer-songwriter Hyukoh’s former collaborator and frontman Choi Woo-suk. The project blends introspective Korean indie rock with Britpop and dream-pop influences, characterized by melodic guitar lines and emotionally direct lyrics. After releasing early EPs and the 2012 debut album “Team Baby,” the band gained wider recognition with the 2017 album “Team Pride” and subsequent singles that charted on Korean indie charts. They have performed at major domestic festivals and collaborated with artists across the Korean indie scene while maintaining a cult following for their atmospheric live shows.
