Carlos Vives

Carlos Vives is a Colombian singer, songwriter and actor from Santa Marta who rose to fame in the 1990s by fusing traditional vallenato with rock and pop. He revitalized vallenato for modern audiences through his 1993 album Clásicos de la Provincia and subsequent hits like “La Gota Fría.” Vives has collaborated with Shakira, Ricky Martin and Alejandro Sanz and remains one of Latin music’s most influential crossover artists. His work spans vallenato, cumbia, rock en español and Latin pop, earning multiple Latin Grammy Awards.
