The Weeknd

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer from Toronto. He emerged in 2010 with anonymous mixtapes that established his dark, atmospheric R&B sound and quickly became a global phenomenon. His debut studio album Kiss Land (2013) was followed by Beauty Behind the Madness (2015), which yielded the chart-topping singles "Can't Feel My Face" and "The Hills." Subsequent releases Starboy (2016), After Hours (2020), and Dawn FM (2022) further solidified his blend of alternative R&B, pop, and synth-driven production. The Weeknd has collaborated with artists including Daft Punk, Ariana Grande, and Future and has headlined major stadium tours. He founded the XO record label and remains one of the most-streamed artists worldwide.
