About
Nile Rodgers is an American guitarist, songwriter, and record producer from New York City. He rose to fame in the 1970s as co-founder of the disco and funk band Chic, co-writing and producing hits such as “Le Freak,” “Good Times,” and “We Are Family.” As a producer he shaped landmark albums including David Bowie’s Let’s Dance, Madonna’s Like a Virgin, and Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories. His signature rhythm-guitar style and Chic Organization productions helped define the sound of late-1970s and early-1980s dance music. Rodgers has collaborated with artists ranging from Diana Ross and Duran Duran to Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams. He remains active as a touring musician, producer, and chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
