Emmanuelle Haïm is a French harpsichordist, conductor and founder of Le Concert d'Astrée. Born in Paris in 1962, she studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and with William Christie before establishing her own ensemble in 2000. Haïm is known for historically informed performances of Baroque opera and oratorio, collaborating with major houses such as Glyndebourne, the Metropolitan Opera and the Paris Opera. Her recordings on Virgin Classics and Erato have earned multiple awards including Gramophone and Diapason d'Or prizes. She also appears regularly as a guest conductor with modern orchestras while maintaining a focus on 17th- and 18th-century repertoire.
