Shakira

Shakira is a Colombian singer-songwriter born in Barranquilla in 1977. She began performing as a child and released her first album at age 13. Her breakthrough came with the 1995 album Pies Descalzos and the 1998 follow-up Dónde Están los Ladrones?, establishing her as a leading Latin artist. The 2001 English-language album Laundry Service brought global success with hits like “Whenever, Wherever.” Known for blending rock, pop, Latin rhythms, and Middle Eastern influences, she has collaborated with artists including Wyclef Jean, Beyoncé, and Rihanna. Shakira has sold over 80 million records and won multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy awards.
