Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an Austrian composer born in Salzburg in 1756. A child prodigy, he began composing at age five and performed across Europe. His career included positions in Salzburg and Vienna, where he produced symphonies, operas, chamber music, and concertos. Mozart’s works span the Classical period and include masterpieces such as The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and the Requiem. He collaborated with librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte and performed for royalty and the public alike. Mozart died in Vienna in 1791 at age 35, leaving a vast catalog that shaped Western classical music.
