About
The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962 by Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. Emerging from the British blues scene, they became one of the most enduring acts in rock history, known for hits such as “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Paint It Black” and “Start Me Up.” Their sound evolved from blues-driven rock to incorporate elements of psychedelia, country, funk and punk while retaining a raw, riff-based style. The Stones have released over 30 studio albums, with landmark works including Exile on Main St. and Some Girls, and have maintained a near-constant touring presence for six decades. Core members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards remain active alongside longtime guitarist Ronnie Wood and drummer Steve Jordan. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and are widely regarded as one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
