Curtis Mayfield

Bio

Curtis Mayfield was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer. He began his career in the 1950s as a member of the vocal group the Impressions, where he wrote and performed many of their hits. Mayfield later pursued a solo career, releasing albums that combined funk, soul, and socially conscious lyrics. He also composed film soundtracks, including the score for Super Fly.
