Bomba Estéreo is a Colombian electro band formed in Bogotá in 2005 by Simón Mejía. The group blends cumbia, champeta, electronica, and global bass into a high-energy dance sound. They gained international attention with their 2015 album Amanecer and the single “Soy Yo,” which earned a Latin Grammy. Their 2017 follow-up Ayo and 2021 release Deja further expanded their reach, featuring collaborations with artists such as Will Smith, Ricky Martin, and Colombian rapper Lido Pimienta. The band is known for socially conscious lyrics and vibrant live performances that fuse traditional Colombian rhythms with modern production.
