Empire Of The Sun

Empire of the Sun is an Australian electronic music duo formed in 2007 in Sydney by Luke Steele of The Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of PNAU. The pair gained international attention with their 2008 debut album Walking on a Dream, which spawned the hit single of the same name. Their sound blends synth-pop, psychedelic pop, and electronic dance music with elaborate visual aesthetics and theatrical live shows. Follow-up albums Ice on the Dune (2013) and Two Vines (2016) continued their chart success, while 2024’s Ask That God marked their return after an eight-year hiatus. The duo has collaborated with artists including PNAU, Lindsey Buckingham, and members of MGMT.
