TOTO is an American rock band formed in 1977 in Los Angeles by session musicians including David Paich, Steve Lukather, and the Porcaro brothers. They rose to fame with their 1978 self-titled debut and the 1982 album Toto IV, which featured the hits "Africa" and "Rosanna." Known for their polished studio craft and fusion of rock, pop, and jazz influences, the band has released 14 studio albums and won multiple Grammy Awards. Core members have included keyboardist David Paich, guitarist Steve Lukather, and drummer Jeff Porcaro until his death in 1992. The group remains active with touring and new recordings into the 2020s.
