Megadeth

Megadeth is an American thrash metal band formed in 1983 in Los Angeles by guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine after his departure from Metallica. The group rose to prominence in the 1980s with aggressive speed-metal riffs and politically charged lyrics, becoming one of the “Big Four” of thrash alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. Key albums include Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying?, Rust in Peace, and Countdown to Extinction, the latter earning a Grammy nomination and platinum certification. The band has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and received multiple Grammy nominations. Megadeth’s lineup has changed frequently, but Mustaine remains the sole constant member. Their sound blends technical guitar work, rapid tempos, and melodic hooks within the thrash and heavy-metal genres.
