Eddie Lovette was a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter active from the late 1960s through the 1990s. He began his career in Kingston before relocating to Miami, where he recorded for several independent labels and became known for his smooth lovers-rock style. Lovette released numerous singles and albums that blended classic reggae rhythms with soulful vocals, gaining popularity in Caribbean communities across the United States and the UK. His best-known tracks include covers and originals such as "Who You Gonna Run To" and "You Make Me Happy." He collaborated with producers like Willie Lindo and worked with musicians from the Jamaican session scene. Lovette maintained a steady presence on the reggae circuit until his death in 1999.
