About

Douglas Boyd is a British oboist and conductor born in 1955. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and rose to prominence as principal oboe of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Boyd later transitioned to conducting, serving as music director of the Manchester Camerata from 2002 to 2011 and the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris from 2015 to 2021. He has appeared as a guest conductor with major orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. His recordings include acclaimed performances of Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven with period-instrument ensembles.
