Sublime

Sublime is an American ska punk band formed in Long Beach, California in 1988. The group blended reggae, punk, ska, and hip hop into a distinctive sound that defined the 1990s Southern California scene. Frontman Bradley Nowell, bassist Eric Wilson, and drummer Bud Gaugh released two studio albums before Nowell’s death in 1996, after which the band disbanded. Their self-titled third album, released posthumously, became a multi-platinum success and spawned enduring hits such as “What I Got,” “Santeria,” and “Wrong Way.” Sublime’s influence on ska-punk, reggae rock, and alternative music remains significant, and surviving members later formed the related project Sublime with Rome.
