Phoenix

Phoenix is a French indie rock band formed in 1999 in Versailles. The quartet—Thomas Mars, Deck d’Arcy, Christian Mazzalai and Laurent Brancowitz—rose to prominence with their 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, which earned a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Their sound blends indie rock, synth-pop and dance elements, characterized by crisp production and melodic hooks. Earlier releases include United (2000) and It’s Never Been Like That (2006). They have collaborated with artists such as Daft Punk and toured extensively worldwide. The band continues to release music on their own Glassnote/ Loyauté imprint.
