Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, known professionally as The Kid LAROI, is an Australian rapper, singer and songwriter born in Sydney in 2003. He first gained attention through SoundCloud releases and collaborations with Juice WRLD before signing with Columbia Records. His debut mixtape F*CK LOVE (2020) and the 2021 single “Stay” with Justin Bieber propelled him to global success, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. LAROI blends melodic rap, emo-rap and contemporary pop, often exploring themes of heartbreak and youth. He has worked with producers like Omer Fedi and T-Minus and released the full-length album THE FIRST TIME in 2023.
