Black Coffee

Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, known professionally as Black Coffee, is a South African house DJ and producer born in Durban. He rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with his deep, soulful house sound rooted in South African musical traditions. His 2015 album Pieces of Me earned a Grammy nomination, and he won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2022 for Subconsciously. Black Coffee has collaborated with international artists including David Guetta, Usher, and Msaki, and has performed at major festivals worldwide. He founded his own imprint, Soulistic Music, and remains one of the most influential figures in African electronic music.
