Sharon den Adel

Sharon den Adel is a Dutch singer-songwriter and the lead vocalist of the symphonic metal band Within Temptation. Born in Waddinxveen, Netherlands, she co-founded the band in 1996 with her partner Robert Westerholt. Her soaring soprano voice and the band’s blend of gothic, symphonic, and rock elements helped propel albums such as Mother Earth, The Silent Force, and The Heart of Everything to international success. Beyond Within Temptation, she has collaborated with artists including Tarja Turunen and Delain, and released solo material under her own name. She remains one of the most recognizable voices in European symphonic metal.
