a‐ha

a‐ha is a Norwegian synth-pop band formed in Oslo in 1982 by Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen and Pål Waaktaar-Savoy. They achieved global success with their 1985 debut album Hunting High and Low and the chart-topping single “Take On Me.” The group is known for its melodic synth-driven sound, strong songwriting and Harket’s distinctive high tenor. Subsequent albums such as Scoundrel Days and Stay on These Roads solidified their status in the 1980s pop landscape. After a long hiatus they reunited in the early 2000s and have continued releasing new material and touring. Their catalog includes more than ten studio albums and numerous international hits.
