Blues Brothers

The Blues Brothers are an American blues and soul revival act formed in 1976 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. Originally created as a Saturday Night Live sketch, the duo became a full performing and recording band backed by top session players. Their 1978 debut album Briefcase Full of Blues reached number one on the Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy. The 1980 feature film The Blues Brothers and its soundtrack further cemented their popularity with covers of classic R&B and soul hits. After Belushi’s death in 1982, Aykroyd continued the project with new line-ups, releasing additional albums and touring extensively. The group is known for high-energy performances and a large horn section.
