About
Pino Daniele was an Italian singer-songwriter and guitarist from Naples. He rose to prominence in the late 1970s with a fusion of blues, jazz, rock, and Neapolitan folk traditions that came to be known as “blues mediterraneo.” His breakthrough album Nero a metà (1980) and the hit single “Je so’ pazzo” established him as a leading voice in Italian music. Over four decades he released more than twenty studio albums, collaborated with artists such as Eric Clapton, Pat Metheny, and Al Di Meola, and performed at major festivals worldwide. Daniele’s guitar-driven sound and socially conscious lyrics made him an enduring figure in Italian popular music until his death in 2015.
