Nathalie Stutzmann is a French contralto and conductor born in 1965. She began her career as a singer, performing with major orchestras and appearing at leading opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera and La Scala. Stutzmann has recorded extensively for labels such as Erato and Deutsche Grammophon, specializing in Baroque and Romantic repertoire. In 2009 she founded the chamber orchestra Orfeo 55, serving as its artistic director and conductor. She has since conducted the Philadelphia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, where she was principal guest conductor. Stutzmann was appointed music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 2022.
