About
David Bowie was an English singer-songwriter, actor and producer born in Brixton, London in 1947. He rose to fame in the late 1960s with the single "Space Oddity" and became a defining figure of glam rock through the 1970s with his alter ego Ziggy Stardust. Bowie continually reinvented his sound and image across decades, moving through art rock, soul, electronic and industrial styles. His 1977 Berlin Trilogy with producers Tony Visconti and Brian Eno produced landmark albums Low, "Heroes" and Lodger. Later highlights include the 1983 hit "Let's Dance" and the final album Blackstar released days before his death in 2016. Bowie collaborated with artists including Mick Ronson, Carlos Alomar, Iggy Pop and Trent Reznor.
