HIM

HIM is a Finnish gothic rock band formed in Helsinki in 1991 by vocalist Ville Valo, guitarist Mikko Lindström, and bassist Mikko Paananen. The group gained international recognition with their 1997 debut album Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 and achieved mainstream success with the 2000 single “Join Me in Death,” which topped charts across Europe. Their sound blends gothic rock, heavy metal, and pop sensibilities, often described as “love metal.” Key albums include Razorblade Romance, Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights, and Love Metal. The band has sold millions of records worldwide and maintained a dedicated fanbase known as “Heartagram” followers. HIM announced their disbandment in 2017 after a farewell tour.
