Savage

Savage is a New Zealand hip hop recording artist born Demetrius Savelio in Samoa and raised in Auckland. He first gained attention in the mid-2000s with the single “Swing,” which reached the top five on the New Zealand charts and later charted internationally. His sound blends hip hop, R&B and dancehall influences with Pacific Island rhythms. Savage released the albums Savage Island (2008) and Keep It on the Low (2015) and has collaborated with artists including Akon, Aaradhna and Scribe. He remains active in the New Zealand urban music scene and continues to release singles and perform.
