Phil Collins

Phil Collins is an English singer, drummer and songwriter, best known as the drummer and later lead vocalist of the progressive rock band Genesis. Born in Chiswick, London in 1951, he joined Genesis in 1970 and became frontman after Peter Gabriel’s departure in 1975. His solo career took off in the 1980s with a string of chart-topping albums including Face Value and No Jacket Required, blending pop, soft rock and adult contemporary styles. Collins is recognized for his distinctive drumming, emotional songwriting and hits such as “In the Air Tonight” and “Against All Odds.” He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, earned multiple Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame both as a solo artist and with Genesis.
