Art Taylor

Arthur S. Taylor Jr. was an American jazz drummer and session musician born in New York City in 1929. He began his professional career in the early 1950s and became a prominent figure in the hard bop scene, recording extensively as a sideman with Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Bud Powell. Taylor led his own groups and released albums such as "A.T.'s Delight" on Blue Note, showcasing his crisp, swinging style. He spent much of the 1960s and 1970s in Europe before returning to the U.S., where he continued performing and mentoring younger musicians until his death in 1995.
