Sia Kate Isobelle Furler is an Australian singer-songwriter born in Adelaide in 1975. She began her career in the 1990s as part of the acid jazz band Crisp before moving to London and releasing her debut solo album OnlySee in 1997. After relocating to the United States, she gained wider recognition with Colour the Small One (2004) and Some People Have Real Problems (2008), later achieving global commercial success with 1000 Forms of Fear (2014) and its lead single “Chandelier.” Known for her powerful, emotive vocals and minimalist stage persona that often hides her face, Sia has also written major hits for artists including Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Katy Perry. Her work spans pop, electropop, and indie pop, and she has collaborated with producers such as Greg Kurstin and Diplo.
