Playboi Carti
About
Jordan Terrell Carter, known professionally as Playboi Carti, is an American rapper and singer from Atlanta, Georgia. He rose to prominence in the mid-2010s with a distinctive mumble-rap style and minimalist production. His 2017 self-titled debut mixtape and the 2018 single "Magnolia" established him as a leading figure in the SoundCloud rap scene. Carti’s 2020 album Whole Lotta Red popularized the rage subgenre with aggressive punk-influenced beats and high-energy delivery. He has collaborated with artists including Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, and Kanye West, and founded the Opium label imprint. His influence extends to fashion and youth culture through his association with brands like Vlone and his evolving aesthetic.
