Mötley Crüe

Mötley Crüe formed in Los Angeles in 1981 and became one of the leading acts of the 1980s glam-metal scene. The quartet—Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and Tommy Lee—built a reputation for high-energy live shows and anthemic hard-rock hits. Their breakthrough album Theatre of Pain (1985) yielded the power ballad “Home Sweet Home,” while Dr. Feelgood (1989) topped the Billboard 200 and earned multi-platinum status. The band’s sound blends glam metal, glam rock, and hard rock with heavy riffs, catchy choruses, and rebellious attitude. After a 2000s hiatus and solo projects, the original lineup reunited for tours and the 2019 Netflix biopic The Dirt, which revived interest in their catalog. They have sold over 100 million records worldwide and remain a defining name in American hard rock.
