Laufey is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in Reykjavík in 1999. She rose to prominence blending jazz standards with modern pop and bedroom pop aesthetics, releasing her debut EP Typical of Me in 2021 and the full-length album Everything I Know About Love in 2022. Her 2023 album Bewitched earned a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, establishing her as a leading voice in contemporary jazz-pop. She is known for her warm contralto voice, cello and piano skills, and collaborations with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
