Brent Faiyaz is an American singer-songwriter and producer from Columbia, Maryland. He first gained attention in 2015 with the single "Sonny's Blues" and later broke through with the 2016 track "Been Away." His sound blends contemporary R&B with alternative and lo-fi influences, often exploring themes of relationships, fame, and introspection. Faiyaz released his debut album Sonder Son in 2017, followed by Fuck the World in 2020 and Wasteland in 2022. He frequently collaborates with artists such as Drake, Tyler, the Creator, and the collective Sonder, and runs his own imprint Lost Kids.
