Frans Vester

Frans Vester (1922–1999) was a Dutch flutist, pedagogue and musicologist based in the Netherlands. He studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and became principal flute of the Residentie Orkest. Vester authored influential flute methods and anthologies, edited the complete works of Mozart for flute, and taught generations of players at The Hague. His recordings and editions helped standardize modern flute technique and historical performance practice in the Netherlands and beyond.
